Spring Snow

When an unexpected beautiful snow covers the muddy ground and sticks to the trees, you just gotta get some pictures. I'm glad I got up early enough to catch it while it was still so pretty, it's already melting now. We all know what melting snow looks like when you have two dogs 😃. Nothing you'd want to take pictures of!

Having a quiet day at home today, hubby bought wine so looks like I'll be cooking and quite likely enjoying myself pretty soon, whenever it's wine-thirty. 🍷📖❄🥂

Hope you are having an awesome day!

So, my kids have informed me that I have a "Finsta", I had no idea. A fake Instagram,  apparently. I didn't intend to use it for any nefarious purposes, I just read a lot and didn't want to bore any of my real life friends with pictures of books or unwanted book reviews. Not one of my over 400 Facebook friends is a big reader. I share my  FB page with my hubby, his idea, not mine, and his friends are into sports and music. Not reading. So, in addition to this blog, which I actually quite enjoy but it's kind of like yelling into the wind, no one reads or comments EVER, I made an Instagram account to befriend other bookaholics. Not a crime, right? Within ten minutes I can have 20 likes on a pretty picture of a book (or 10) that I am currently reading. That makes me happy. I want no Facebook drama with real life friends so I only friended other book readers/writers/collectors. If that makes me book-ist so be it! Blogger appears to be a ghost town, anyway. Sa...

Day 7: Figure out Presets/Overlays

Since I've been trying to peddle my photos I haven't had time to enter the weekly challenges at ViewBug or Photocrowd,  but I'm still challenging myself every day. I have been told that presets on Lightroom or Photoshop will save me hours of editing time, so I'm going to try to figure it all out. I'm old, what can I say? Here is the original: The first overlay is called Woodland Fairy: This is Storybook 4 The third is Vintage Lace 6: All 3 overlays I bought from Lemon and Lace Studios, as part of the "Complete Store Bundle" Check them out here . So, some of the tones just don't work with this particular photo, I just wanted to try them out and figure out what I was doing. This whole thing is an ongoing learning experience for me! I've only had Photoshop/Lightroom for ten days or so, I am learning the very basics still. But I'm impatient and want to jump right in! Did you know you could buy Photo...

Day 14

Still raining here, so my beautiful scenery photos have to wait, but we need the rain so it's all good. Wet days mean my hubby isn't outside, so it's very hard to stage a good photo session with him underfoot. So, I just took my dogs to the lake for some exercise and shot a few quick pics and called it a day. Again, not exactly award winning, or particularly challenging either, but at least the entire day wasn't  a dud, right?  Tomorrow's challenge will either be a faceless portrait or holiday themed. We shall see! Hope you're having an AMAZING day! Check out my new but evergrowing istock portfolio HERE !! Or my Adobe portfolio HERE Or my Shutterstock portfolio HERE
