Just That Kind of Day

As planned, I braved the below 0 temps yesterday and attempted to get some shots of my dogs. I did not dress the part, though, and my bare knee in my torn jeans actually stuck to the ice I so stupidly knelt on. I know, I know, I should be better prepared,  but my dogs just do not cooperate with me when it comes to sitting still and posing prettily, so when my teenager walked in the room and offered to help me out I thought I'd better grab the opportunity and fast.

So this is about as good as it got yesterday:

Then it turned into this:

She loves loves loves to chase snow balls as much as she loves catching tennis balls or chasing rocks. She thinks it's her job, no joke. She is all business and extremely focused. My yard is too small to get any good shots of her in action, I'll be taking them to the mountains once it's above 20 degrees again. Hopefully I'll shoot some keepers then. But hey, my dog had a blast, so that's what matters.

My other dog, however...

He was NOT impressed with being told to sit and stay. Can't say I blame him, this is when my knee froze to the ground.

Took him inside, gave him a treat, he was much happier.

Are you getting ready to celebrate the new year? It happens to be my wedding anniversary on New Year's eve so I hope to be celebrating both! Maybe I'll have a picture to share, who knows?

Day 14

Still raining here, so my beautiful scenery photos have to wait, but we need the rain so it's all good. Wet days mean my hubby isn't outside, so it's very hard to stage a good photo session with him underfoot. So, I just took my dogs to the lake for some exercise and shot a few quick pics and called it a day. Again, not exactly award winning, or particularly challenging either, but at least the entire day wasn't  a dud, right?  Tomorrow's challenge will either be a faceless portrait or holiday themed. We shall see! Hope you're having an AMAZING day! Check out my new but evergrowing istock portfolio HERE !! Or my Adobe portfolio HERE Or my Shutterstock portfolio HERE

Day 12!

Believe it or not, it was quite a challenge for me to take this photo. Our local lake is really dry, so dry that my dog can freely run along the side of it, where the water used to go 4 feet up the retaining wall, there is now 3 feet of beach there. Crazy. On the plus side, the low water allowed me to wade through these lily pads and slippery weeds on the back side of the lake to see this view, which I couldn't see a few short weeks ago without a boat. Saw lots of tadpoles and cute little frogs, couldn't control my camera in time to change the settings from landscape to micro while they waited patiently however, but that's OK! My son and I enjoyed it anyway. Tonight there's supposed to be some cool moon photo ops according to my local weather man, so maybe...even though I promised to actually show up at my Les Mills Body Pump class tonight. It's been too long, gonna feel like I got hit by a truck! So, decisions, decisions. If you're bored, check out my sm...

I'm Baaaàaaaacccck

UGH, in addition to having been so sick, my computer is also still dead. Dead dead. Which uninspired me. I've made two sales so far, which is sad and exciting at the same time. The beautiful,  vibrant fall colors never really happened here which also uninspired me. Took some amazing photos of my dog: Unfortunately, she is wearing an NFL Jets collar (J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets) so until I can get on a computer with Photoshop I can't sell them. Hubby is a Patriots fan and says he knew no good could come from a Jets collar. Pfft. I need to sell 1000 photos to fix my computer! Hahaha So, I have not been shooting a photo a day. In fact, I went an entire week without picking up my camera at all, which is sad. But I didn't see the point without being able to edit them at all before uploading to adobe, shutterstock or istock. To be honest, the landscape around me hasn't been very inspiring either. Dead leaves on the ground, trees bare. Hunters all through our woods ...
