Day Three: People

I prefer taking photos of landscapes, sunsets, my dog, pretty things....but having four young men in my family (and one old one, haha), I rarely have willing subjects to practice my portraits on. Other than the one sons senior photos. But thankfully, that same son now has a beautiful girlfriend who has recently told me she loves getting her photo taken. Voila!
I am so excited, I actually got to take a few hundred photos of a young couple. I really need the practice,  still trying to get the right settings for the right light. Some of them turned out fantastic, some go straight in the trash. Here are a few of my favorites:

We are literally getting a foot of snow this afternoon, so like everyone else, I acted as though the world was coming to an end and bought out there grocery store this morning. Gotta feed my four kids and hubby, even if I could gladly live off of Munchos and green tea. However, now that I am home, three of my kids are here safe, hubby's skidder broke down so he said the heck with it and he also is home safe. Gotta get son #3 home from work and then I will really relax. In the meantime, I am spending a few glorious hours with King Henry VIII and the Tudor Court. Bliss.  Have an awesome day! Day 13

My photo challenge is up and running on both Photocrowd and ViewBug, so exciting! Yesterday my challenge was a colorful landscape. I took off for the day with my family, but the leaves are not quite in full bloom around here just yet. Very disappointing because I'm afraid they will fall off the trees before we get the huge amount of color we usually get here in western Maine. So I got some cute pics of farm animals at the Fryeburg Fair instead. However, riding by the Androscoggin River on my way home we spotted a few colorful trees, so my hubby pulled over and we went for a little hike and I took these: I actually think the rain helped these colors "pop". First Post This Year!

I hope you had a fun and safe New Year!  As I mentioned before, my wedding anniversary was on New Year's Eve, so my hubby took me to our favorite place for a Scorpion Bowl, or two 😉.  Took a couple of my kids with us to drive, one of the perks of having a houseful of teens, I guess!   My awesome hubby bought me flowers, of course, which I promptly disassembled and took pictures of, and played around in Photoshop,  on my NEW LAPTOP that Santa (or my son's and hubby) bought me for Christmas.  I was so excited! Still am, thus all the explanation points. (!!!) Pretty, right? They are pretty all together in their vase too, I assure you.  Ok, I took a quick pic with my cell phone, just to show he did indeed buy me a "bunch" of flowers, not just the two I edited above. :) And a card too! Since I was in such a good mood, and my profile pic on HERE is now from last year, I took a selfie, cause...
